Flyball & Fireworks 10
WELCOME LETTER
So glad you are joining us for
the tenth anniversary of Flyball and Fireworks--the oldest continual tournament in
Region 13. We want you to have a fantastic time, and the members of ARFF and
Boston Stragglers will do all we can to make
sure that happens.
Friday night set-up will be
available from 5 - 8 PM. We will have assigned areas for each club, so look
for your club's space when you arrive. (Please do not enter the building
before 5 as parents are picking their kids up from camp, and the facility
manager has specifically asked us to stay out of the way until that's over.) As always, we ask you to respect the facility and clean up after your dogs.
And, above all, have a really fun time with your four-legged friends!
Saturday Schedule:
7:00 AM - Building Opens
7:30 - 8:00 AM - Measuring
8:00 AM: Captains' Meeting
8:15 AM: Racing Begins
6:00 PM: Racing Ends
Sunday Schedule:
7:00 AM - Building Opens
7:45 AM - Racing Begins
Facility Information:
Teamworks is a two-level building with racing and crating on the lower level and
the Replays Lounge on the upper (ground) level. All parking is on the upper
level. To unload your stuff, drive
around the right side of the building and down the hill to enter through the
cargo door on the same level as the racing and crating areas. (Please bring
floor covering to use under your metal crates and x-pens.) There is an elevator
in the building providing accessibility to both levels. After you finish, please
drive your car back up to the main parking lot so there will be room for others
to unload.
Racing Information:
All Divisions are Round Robin Format, 3/5. In addition, Regular Divisions 1,
Multi 1
and Multi 2 will run a Single Elimination. Divisions with elimination racing will use the Round
Robin for elimination seeding. Final placements will be determined by combining
results for the Round Robin and Elimination racing.
In Round Robin racing, winning
teams will receive 1 point per race won.
Ties will be be broken by:
Fastest time overall during the tournament.
There will be awards for all
participating teams!
Food and Restaurants:
Due to holiday staffing, the Replays Lounge will not be open during our
tournament. Feel free to bring your team's usual meals and snacks, and if
there's enough interest, we'll do a pot luck lunch. (To be determined before the
tournament--we'll let the captains know.) There are many
restaurants within a mile of the site. (In fact, there's a Subway
inside the WalMart across the Street, a McDonalds in the WalMart parking lot,
and a Wendy's across Route 9. Dunkin Donuts are all over the place, and there's
an Outback Steakhouse, Pizzeria Uno, Ruby Tuesdays, as well as many other
independent restaurants within a mile or two. For fried clam lovers, there's
Harry's Diner--about two miles east on Rt. 9 on the north side of the street.)
Directions to Teamworks
Centers:
http://www.teamworkscenters.com/
It's really easy to find, but my suggestion to anyone who is traveling on the
Mass Pike would be to get off at Exit 11A (Route I-495) and go North (take left
ramp after tolls) to exit 23B (Route 9 West). Teamworks is less than five miles
from I-495 (turn right at the 4th light. The WalMart will be on your left after
you turn up Otis Street.)
Emergency Veterinary Care:
Tufts (Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine) Animal Hospital Emergency Care
(about 20 minutes from racing site)
